Cryptid encounter pins are based on listener story submissions to the What If It's True? Podcast, but only when a location is provided.

Listener names and exact locations are never shared. Town names, when provided, have been changed to the county name. Since the map cannot pin an entire county, it pins a location within that county—that pin is not the exact location of an encounter.
